The original founder of the firm, Ken Hale has been an attorney since 1974. His experience includes years as an underwriter, insurance broker, risk manager, attorney and business advisor. Ken is currently the Chairman of the firm, with particular emphasis on developing risk management plans for commercial entities.

Robert L. Stein, J.D., CPCU, AAI, CIC, ARM
Robert Stein has been a member of our law firm since 1977. Since that time he has earned the reputation as one of the leaders in advising members of the assisted living field. As General Counsel of the Michigan Assisted Living Association (MALA), Bob routinely advises members on legal issues related to employment law, licensing issues, administrative law, leases and contracts, and a host of other areas.

Kathleen M. Murphy, J.D., MBA
Kathleen M. Murphy has been a member of our law firm since 1991 and she has been licensed to practice law since 1989. She specializes in advising assisted living clients of the firm on employment law, licensing issues, and many other areas. She holds a Juris Doctorate and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Detroit. She was previously employed with the accounting firm of Coopers & Lybrand.

Michael S. Hale, J.D., CPCU, AAI, CIC
Michael Hale, who is President of the law firm, has been a member of the firm since 1999 and has been an attorney since 1994. His prior experience includes employment with the law firm of Plunkett & Cooney, P.C., one of Michigan's largest law firms, where he gained considerable experience in both insurance coverage litigation and other types of litigation such as employment law.

Daniel P. Hale, J.D., CPCU, CIC, AAI, ARM, LIC, AIC, AIS, API
Daniel P. Hale is an attorney specializing in both risk management and coverage analysis.  A graduate of Hillsdale College and the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, Dan is experienced in representing both insurers and insureds in various coverage matters.  His prior experience includes employment with the law firm of Mellon, McCarthy & Pries, P.C. where his focus was insurance litigation.
